Amazing School
Somerset is an amazing school becuase it offers learning through hands on and fun experiences. My eldest went to the school for three years. He had 2 years of preschool and 1 year of pre-k. In his public school kindergarten class, he and a fellow classmate, who also went to Somerset were the two best readers in a class of 20 students. I believe Somerset's program combined with parent support will contribute to a wonderful and beneficial education for any child. I presently have my daughter enrolled in the pre-k program and she loved all of her experiences in preschool.

My 3 year old daughter is in this school (Rochester Hills location) and I just can't say enough about it. Somerset school teachers are very very nice. Kids enjoy their time and learn so much academically. There is lots of focus on the kids social and personal skills. It's a very happy, lively place and the best you can find for your little ones.
Kindergarten Experience
I've been meaning to say thanks for sharing that story about _______ asking "how many he got wrong" the other day. It is very sad - but I'm just so happy to know his confidence is building up now instead of continuing on the downward spiral. I'm so glad I took him out of the K he was in and put him with you all.

I wanted to tell you what we've been noticing at home - especially starting with last week. He is so much calmer and overall happier. He will literally be singing and dancing when he gets home. Whereas before he was kind of combative, overall grumpy and totally spent. People even started noticing last week. I had a close friend of the family as well as his tennis coach tell me how smiley, happy and more cooperative he was last week as opposed to what he's been like since starting K.
I asked him if he likes his new school. He says, "Yes! I like it so much that I never want to leave it!" The only thing he doesn't like is the "nap". But honestly I think the rest time is a perk. It's a great break between the morning and afternoon and gives him the down time that he needs to make it through a full day.
I'm so happy that he's so happy now! I'm really hoping it all continues...I think it will!

My daughter will not be in school today as we have an appointment right in the middle of the morning. I also wanted to share with you, She and a friend were discussing their preschools last weekend. I overheard my daughter say, "Somerset is like...A dream come true!"
